First off, weekend recap.
Friday - Football game at CB South. Final - Something along the lines of 34-14. Show was ok.
Saturday - Well. Let’s start off with an explanation of the new “circuit” we perform in. Numeric scores aren’t really announced (they’re out of 140, so they’re “meaningless,” as someone put it), and we’re given a rating. In order of worst-best, they are “Good,” “Very Good,” “Excellent,” “Outstanding,” and “Superior.” The only other schools in this “circuit” (the “festival”circuit”) are CR North/South, Neshaminy, Pennridge, Pennsbury (who is now taught by nearly all of Bensalem’s old directors/techs), William Tennent, and Montgomery (no relation to the flea market). There may have been another school or two, but I forget.
So anyway, the show was pretty bad. It was real disorganized (poor communication and such). Bensalem was pretty much the smallest band there, next to Tennent. Our Directors decided to change circuits because the old one was “unfair.” Saturday, we received a rating of “Very good,” while about 2/3 of the other groups got “superior” and the other 1/3 got “excellent.” Going on a 100 point system, I figure Superior is >90, Outstanding >80, etc, so probably in the 60’s for us this week. Fun stuff.
Sunday - OAFK reading, college apps, this.
