Day of “Radio Silence”

Sorry for the bad title, but I’m not really sure what else to call it.

Wednesday, Dec. 5 is going to be my day of “radio silence.” My phone will be off (on walkman mode so I can still use the clock) until 5:15 at the earliest. I won’t check my email until at least 6:00. I won’t be using AIM at all until Thursday. (This message will remain as my away message until my router automatically disconnects me. I am unsure as to when that happens exactly, so play that it by ear. The fact that this message is up DOES NOT mean that I am actually online/home/near my computer. It is only here to tell you why I won’t respond).

I’m trying to see how much time I waste on communications devices (checking email, staying logged into AIM, checking for texts, etc.) versus how much time I actually use them (reading emails, talking to people, reading texts, etc.) If you need me, you’ll need to either find me and talk to me in person or call someone I’m with, excluding some extreme circumstances (which I’d rather not consider).

Depending on how this goes, I may “schedule” more of these for myself. Here’s hoping for the best.
